Four Individuals, Including Two Indians, Killed in Oman Flash Floods During Eid Celebrations

Two Indian nationals from the state of Kerala were among four individuals who lost their lives in Oman due to flash floods that occurred on the occasion of Eid. The incident involved a vehicle being swept away by sudden and intense flooding, which is often attributed to seasonal weather phenomena in the region.

The tragedy unfolded when heavy rainfall led to the rapid overflow of water in certain areas, affecting roads and transportation. Local authorities reported that rescue operations, including search and recovery missions, were launched soon after the incident.

In response to the situation, Keralas Leader of the Opposition, V.D. Satheesan, has reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the Indian government to provide assistance to the families affected by this tragic event. He emphasized the need for support and cooperation in dealing with the aftermath, particularly for those who are grieving.

Flash floods in Oman are not uncommon during the monsoon season, and residents are often reminded of the potential risks posed by heavy rains and associated weather events. The government has been working on improving flood preparedness and response mechanisms to mitigate such incidents in the future.

As the investigation continues, the Indian Embassy in Oman is expected to be involved in offering support to the bereaved families and facilitating any necessary arrangements for repatriation.
