Government Announces Natural Farming Initiative on Over 61,000 Acres for Kharif Season
The implementation of natural farming practices is set to take place in 489 clusters at an estimated cost of ₹42 crore. Farmers selected for this initiative will undergo training at designated Rythu Vedikas, which are local agricultural centers aimed at promoting sustainable farming techniques.
Natural farming, which focuses on eliminating synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, is expected to enhance soil health, increase biodiversity, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to improve agricultural sustainability and farmer incomes.
The government’s commitment to this program underscores its focus on environmentally friendly farming methods, which have gained traction in recent years due to growing concerns over chemical use in agriculture. Ongoing support and training for farmers will be critical in ensuring successful adoption of these methods within the targeted clusters.
