Karnataka Achieves Second Place in OMC-Operated EV Charging Network with 2,039 Stations
Karnataka has emerged as a leader in the establishment of operational charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) among several key states in India, surpassing major states such as Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat. Currently, Karnataka has a robust network of operational charging stations managed by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). Notably, Uttar Pradesh tops the list with the highest number of charging stations, boasting a total of 2,893.
This development reflects Karnatakas commitment to promoting sustainable transportation and enhancing EV infrastructure, which is crucial for reducing carbon emissions and addressing the growing concerns over air quality. The state government has been actively encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles through various incentives and policy frameworks aimed at both consumers and manufacturers. Additionally, the increasing number of charging stations is expected to facilitate the growth of the electric vehicle market in the region, supporting the broader transition towards clean energy mobility in India.
