Karnataka SC/ST Commission Engages in Discussions Regarding Internal Reservation Clarifications

The Karnataka State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes convened discussions recently to address ongoing confusion regarding internal reservation policies among Scheduled Castes and the overall reduction of reservation quotas for these communities. The state government has proposed a decrease in the reservation for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes from 56% to 50% for the recruitment of 56,432 positions.

During the deliberations, the Commission engaged with senior government officials, former members of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), and representatives from various community organizations.
