Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: CPI(M) and Congress Exchange Accusations Over Fragmenting LDF-UDF Political Landscape by Supporting BJP
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has alleged that the national leadership of the Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi, is functioning as a “B-Team” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This assertion reflects ongoing tensions between the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Congress.
In response to these claims, All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary K.C. Venugopal countered that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have found a “willing tool” in Chief Minister Vijayan to undermine Rahul Gandhi. Venugopal emphasized that Gandhi is engaged in a “lone battle” against the Sangh Parivar, which he characterized as aligned with various corporate interests.
This exchange highlights the increasingly polarized political landscape in India, where regional and national parties are often at odds, particularly in the context of upcoming elections. Both the CPI(M) and Congress have entrenched positions in Keralas political arena, with Vijayans administration focusing on developmental issues amid ongoing political discourse involving national leaders.
