In response, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the Prime Ministers remarks, asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is obstructing the rights of the people to access fish. She alleged that the BJP has removed approximately 9 million names from the electoral roll in an effort to consolidate power within the state.
