Mysuru City Corporation Implements Motor Vehicle Cess and Raises Property Tax by 3%

The implementation of a Motor Vehicle Cess will take effect in April 2026, marking a year after the introduction of a garbage collection cess and a solid waste management fee aimed at property owners. This new levy is part of the governments ongoing efforts to enhance urban services and manage waste more efficiently.

The Motor Vehicle Cess is designed to generate revenue for infrastructure improvements and maintenance associated with transportation. This initiative may also address traffic management and road safety concerns within urban areas.

The previously introduced garbage collection cess and solid waste management fee are intended to ensure sustainable waste disposal and management practices, contributing to cleaner and healthier communities. Both initiatives underscore the governments commitment to improving public services while encouraging responsible waste management among residents.
