This information was highlighted by B. Hemla Naik, the Director of Education at the University of Horticultural Sciences, during a recent discussion on agricultural advancements in the region.
The states favorable climate and diverse topography create optimal conditions for growing a variety of flowers, making it an attractive location for both local and international markets. Key flower varieties produced in Karnataka include roses, orchids, and marigolds, which are popular for both decorative and ceremonial uses.
In addition to its agricultural significance, Karnatakas flower industry plays a vital role in the economy, supporting livelihoods for many farmers and contributing to the states agricultural exports. Numerous initiatives aimed at improving cultivation techniques and market access are being implemented to further boost this thriving sector.
