Priyank Kharge Instructs Zilla Panchayat CEOs to Prevent Drinking Water Shortages in Karnataka Villages

As Karnataka experiences soaring temperatures during the peak summer season, Priyank Kharge, the states Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, as well as Information Technology and Biotechnology, has issued a directive to the Chief Executive Officers of all zilla panchayats. The Minister emphasized the need for immediate and proactive measures to ensure that villages across the state do not suffer from drinking water shortages in the coming months.

In light of the rising temperatures, which can exacerbate water scarcity issues, the government is urging local officials to assess the current water supply situation and implement necessary resources and solutions. This may involve conducting assessments of existing water sources, exploring alternative water sourcing options, and enhancing infrastructure for water distribution.

Additionally, the Ministers call to action aligns with ongoing government initiatives to enhance rural infrastructure, improve water management practices, and ensure sustainable access to drinking water for all communities in Karnataka. Authorities are expected to come up with comprehensive strategies that prioritize the needs of vulnerable populations during the peak summer months.
