“New Smart Street Vending Market Set to Launch in Ongole”

A new initiative aims to establish 100 retail shops within 25 shipping containers, focusing on empowering local womens self-help groups (SHGs) and street vendors. This project is designed to enhance the livelihoods of these groups by providing them with a designated space to sell their products and services.

The initiative is expected to not only boost local economies but also foster entrepreneurship among women, who often face significant barriers in accessing traditional retail spaces. By creating a dedicated marketplace, the project will facilitate better access to customers and potentially increase sales for these vendors. The containers will be strategically located in areas with high foot traffic to maximize visibility and patronage.

In addition to improving income opportunities, the project will provide training and support for participating women to help them manage their businesses effectively, covering areas like financial literacy, marketing, and customer service. This holistic approach aims to support sustainable development within the community and promote gender equality in the local economy.
