Vande Bharat Trains Transported 39.8 Million Passengers in FY 2025-26, Marking a 36% Increase Year-over-Year

The Ministry of Railways has announced that the Vande Bharat Express has successfully transported over 91 million passengers across one lakh trips since its launch. The Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is India’s first semi-high-speed train, designed to provide a modern and efficient travel experience.

Introduced in February 2019, the train features advanced technology such as automatic doors, onboard Wi-Fi, and GPS-based passenger information systems. The service aims to reduce travel time between major cities while enhancing passenger comfort.

The train operates on various routes, connecting key destinations across India, and has received positive feedback from travelers for its speed and amenities. The Ministry of Railways continues to expand the network, with plans for additional routes and more Vande Bharat trains to improve the overall rail infrastructure in the country.
