Centre Recommends Suspension of Paddy Incentive in Tamil Nadu, Says Stalin

In a recent announcement, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin pledged that the procurement price for paddy would be raised to ₹3,500 per quintal under the forthcoming Dravidian Model 2.0 government initiatives. This commitment aims to enhance support for farmers and boost the agricultural sector in Tamil Nadu.

During a press conference, Stalin criticized the Central Government for its decision to increase the price of commercial gas cylinders, highlighting the financial strain this places on both households and businesses. This increase is part of broader inflationary pressures affecting essential commodities across the country.

The Chief Ministers remarks come in the context of ongoing efforts to improve the livelihoods of farmers and to address the financial concerns of citizens amid rising costs. The proposed increase in the procurement price is seen as a significant step in reinforcing the states agricultural policies and ensuring fair compensation for farmers in Tamil Nadu.
