Tribal Council Leaders Participate in Assam Elections

Sewli Mohilary has been officially announced as the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) candidate for the upcoming elections in the Kokrajhar constituency. She is the wife of Hagrama Mohilary, the Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council, who has been a prominent political figure in the region.

The BPF, a regional political party in Assam, aims to address the concerns and aspirations of the Bodoland community, which is predominantly inhabited by the Bodo ethnic group. The Kokrajhar constituency has historically been significant in state politics, with various parties competing for influence in this area.

In her candidacy, Sewli Mohilary hopes to continue her husband’s legacy and focus on development initiatives, social justice, and the welfare of the local population. The elections are set to take place in the coming months, and her candidacy is part of a broader strategy by the BPF to strengthen its position in the Bodoland region.
