Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister inaugurates Indias first open-access quantum reference facilities in Amaravati

In a recent announcement, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the establishment of two key facilities dedicated to quantum technology: the Amaravati 1S at SRM University and the Amaravati 1Q at Medha Towers. These state-of-the-art centers are designed to support researchers and companies in the testing and certification of quantum hardware.

The Amaravati 1S facility at SRM University aims to provide a collaborative environment for academic research, while the Amaravati 1Q facility at Medha Towers will focus on industry applications and commercialization of quantum technologies. These initiatives are part of the government’s broader strategy to position the region as a hub for innovation in quantum research and development.

Quantum technology is recognized as a frontier that could revolutionize computing, telecommunications, and data processing. As nations compete in the quantum race, these facilities are expected to attract researchers, startups, and established companies interested in overcoming the challenges of developing and deploying quantum hardware. The CM emphasized the potential economic and technological benefits these centers could bring to the region, fostering job creation and advanced research capabilities.
