Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: UDF Offers Support to Four Independent Rebel CPI(M) Members and Welcomes NJD

The United Democratic Front (UDF) has announced its support for several candidates in the upcoming elections. G. Sudhakaran will be contesting from the Ambalappuzha constituency, P.K. Sasi will represent the party in Ottapalam, T.K. Govindan is the candidate for Taliparamba, and V. Kunhikrishnan will contest in Payyannur.

The UDFs endorsement of these candidates is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its electoral presence in various key constituencies across the state. Historically, the UDF has been a major political coalition in Kerala, comprising several parties including the Indian National Congress and various regional parties. The announcement is expected to galvanize support among UDF followers and enhance their chances in the upcoming elections, which are set to take place in early 2024.

In recent polling data, the UDF is looking to reclaim seats in areas where it has lost ground in previous elections, aiming to address local issues such as economic development, infrastructure improvements, and public services in each of these constituencies.
