West Bengal Set to Receive 2,400 CAPF Companies in Staged Deployment

In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections, the deployment of central forces has seen a significant increase, rising from 1,071 companies during the 2021 elections to over twice that number. This escalation in security personnel aims to enhance election management and ensure a smooth voting process.

The decision to boost the number of central forces underscores the governments commitment to maintaining law and order during the electoral process. In addition to managing potential disruptions, the increased presence of security personnel is anticipated to build voter confidence and deter any attempts at electoral malfeasance.

Authorities have also highlighted that this deployment will cover a range of responsibilities, including safeguarding polling stations, assisting local law enforcement, and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process. As the election date approaches, additional measures and strategies are expected to be implemented to further streamline operations and uphold democratic practices.
