Pixxel set to launch India’s inaugural orbital data center satellite this year.
Pixxel, an Indian space technology company, has announced a collaboration with Sarvam, a provider of artificial intelligence solutions, to develop an advanced satellite system. Under this partnership, Pixxel will be responsible for the design, construction, launch, and operational management of the satellite. Meanwhile, Sarvam will contribute its AI technology to serve as the backbone for the satellite’s functionality.
This collaboration aims to enhance satellite data analytics and processing capability. Pixxel specializes in earth observation and aims to provide high-resolution images for various applications, including agriculture, urban planning, and environmental monitoring. The integration of Sarvams AI technology is expected to improve the efficiency and accuracy of data interpretation, enabling better decision-making for industries that depend on satellite imagery.
The partnership aligns with the growing trend of leveraging AI in space technology to enhance data-driven insights. This initiative also reflects the increasing involvement of private firms in the Indian space sector, particularly following the liberalization of the industry by the Indian government.
Both companies anticipate that the project will contribute to advancements in satellite technology and its applications, furthering India’s position in the global space landscape.
