Prosthetic Foot Center Established in Trinidad; Jaishankar Describes It as a Contribution to Mobility

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar inaugurated the Jaipur Foot Prosthetics Centre in the Caribbean nation on May 9. The center was established by the non-profit organization Jaipur Foot USA and aims to provide high-quality prosthetic limbs to individuals in need, enhancing mobility and independence for those with limb disabilities.

The Jaipur Foot is a well-known low-cost prosthetic developed in India that has transformed the lives of many amputees since its inception. This new facility is expected to serve not only the local population but also individuals from neighboring regions, offering rehabilitation services and vocational training alongside prosthetic fittings.

Jaipur Foot USA, established to promote this innovative technology abroad, has been working to expand its reach and impact, contributing to global health initiatives focused on disability support. The inauguration is part of a broader effort to strengthen ties between India and Caribbean nations in health care and social welfare.
