Delhis Per Capita Income Projected to Increase by 7.09%, According to Economic Survey for 2025-26

The Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi has projected a fiscal deficit of ₹13,703 crore for the Budget Estimates (BE) of the financial year 2025-26. This anticipated shortfall is primarily attributed to a significant increase in capital expenditure, which is expected to more than double, reflecting a rise of 145% compared to the fiscal year 2024-25.

This increase in capital expenditure may be linked to several ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects intended to enhance urban development and public services in the region. The government’s focus on improving transportation, healthcare, and education facilities might be driving this substantial investment.

In parallel, policymakers will need to assess the long-term implications of this fiscal strategy on the overall financial health of the state and consider measures to ensure sustainable growth while addressing budgetary constraints. Stakeholders will be closely monitoring these developments as they could influence economic conditions and public services in Delhi in the years to come.
