Cabinet Authorizes ₹20,667 Crore for Ahmedabad-Dholera Semi High-Speed Rail Project

Indias inaugural semi high-speed rail project, developed using indigenous technology, is set to serve as a benchmark for future rail initiatives nationwide, according to railway officials. This project aims to enhance connectivity for 284 villages, facilitating improved transportation links and economic opportunities for local communities.

The semi high-speed train system is expected to operate at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour, significantly reducing travel times between key urban centers and rural areas. Additionally, it is designed to integrate advanced safety features and energy-efficient technologies, aligning with the governments vision for sustainable transportation.

Railway authorities have indicated that the project will not only bolster regional development but is also part of a broader strategy to expand Indias railway infrastructure.
