CM Engages with Archbishop Netto to Address Church Leaders Concerns Regarding Cabinet Formation
Leaders of the Latin Catholic community expressed concerns that their interests are not being adequately represented by the Congress leadership in Kerala. Notably, the Fisheries Ministry was assigned to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), despite the Latin Catholic community being the predominant demographic along the states coastal areas. This decision has raised apprehensions about the equitable distribution of political power and resources among different communities in Kerala, particularly in sectors that directly affect their livelihoods such as fishing and coastal management. The Latin community has historically played a significant role in the coastal economy, and their leaders are now advocating for greater representation and support to address their needs and promote inclusive governance.
