Increased Demand for 110 kV Substation in Thamarassery, Kozhikode
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has proposed the establishment of a new substation aimed at addressing significant transmission losses and enhancing voltage quality within the electrical supply network. This development is intended to benefit approximately 70,000 consumers in the Thamarassery, Koduvally, and Omassery areas.
KSEB officials have emphasized that the new substation is crucial for ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted power supply to these regions. The project is part of a broader initiative to improve infrastructure and efficiency within the electricity distribution system, as growing demand and existing network constraints have led to increased challenges in maintaining service quality.
In addition, the substation is expected to facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources and contribute to the state’s overall energy security. Stakeholders are urged to provide feedback during the planning process to ensure the project meets community needs effectively.
