Karnataka CET Re-Test Requires Students to Remove Janivara and Hijab

The Education Minister reported that, despite comprehensive training provided to staff on the dress code and specific directives for students wearing religious attire or identification to arrive at examination centers two hours early, incidents related to dress code compliance were noted at three different centers.

The Ministry of Education had implemented these measures to ensure that all students could participate in examinations without hindrance. The requirement for early arrival was intended to facilitate proper verification of attire and identification prior to the exams. Following these incidents, the Ministry is expected to conduct a review of policies and training initiatives to prevent future occurrences and possibly provide additional guidance or support for staff and students regarding dress code adherence during examinations.
