Uttarakhand Government Initiates Investigation into Reports of Childrens Movement to Madrasas

Parag Madhukar Dhakate, the Special Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department, has issued a directive to the district magistrates of Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, and Nainital. He has requested that they initiate comprehensive verification drives in all madrasas within their respective districts.

This initiative aims to ensure compliance with regulations and verify the operational status and governance of madrasas. In light of recent concerns regarding educational standards and the proper use of public funds, the verification drives will include assessments of enrollment records, faculty qualifications, and adherence to educational guidelines set by state authorities.

The move comes as part of a broader strategy by the Minority Welfare Department to enhance transparency and accountability in minority educational institutions. Results from these verification drives are expected to provide insights into the current state of madrasa education in Uttarakhand and inform future policy decisions.
