Government to Implement Security Protocol for Fishing Harbours Under CISF Supervision

A senior government official has announced that the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be responsible for developing a comprehensive security framework to assist local administrations in effectively managing security protocols at fish landing centres and fishing harbours.

Currently, there are a total of 1,547 designated fish landing centres and fishing harbours across 13 coastal states and Union Territories (UTs) in India. This initiative aims to enhance safety and security measures in these vital areas, which are crucial for the fishing industry and local economies. The CISF’s involvement underscores the governments commitment to safeguarding the interests of fishermen and ensuring the integrity of coastal operations.

The implementation of this security template will likely include risk assessments, personnel training, and the establishment of communication protocols to facilitate coordinated responses during emergencies.
