CBSE Acknowledges Website Vulnerabilities Following Teen Hackers Exposé
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has acknowledged security vulnerabilities within its OnMark portal, a platform used for digital evaluations. In a recent statement, the CBSE expressed gratitude to ethical hackers who helped identify these vulnerabilities.
The recognition follows an incident involving 19-year-old ethical hacker Nisarga Adhikary, who reported the weaknesses in the boards digital infrastructure. In response, the CBSE has mobilized a specialized cybersecurity team, which includes experts from various government agencies and prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), to enhance the security protocols of the system.
The OnMark portal is significant in facilitating the online evaluation process, serving students, educators, and administrators. The boards proactive steps to address these vulnerabilities highlight its commitment to ensuring data security and reliability in its digital services. Such measures are crucial, especially as educational institutions increasingly rely on online platforms amid the ongoing digital transformation in education.
