Government Confirms Adequate Supply of Petrol and Diesel in India

The Jag Vasant and Pine Gas vessels have successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime passage which connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman. According to the Special Secretary of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the Pine Gas is transporting 45,000 metric tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and is anticipated to arrive at New Mangalore Port in Karnataka, India, early in the morning on March 27.

The Strait of Hormuz is known as a strategic chokepoint, as it is the transit route for a significant portion of the worlds oil and gas supply. Safe passage through these waters is vital for maintaining energy security and trade continuity in the region. The arrival of the vessel at New Mangalore Port will contribute to the supply of LPG, which is widely used for cooking and heating in India.

The Indian government has been focusing on enhancing port infrastructure and ensuring maritime security to facilitate uninterrupted trade and transport through such critical routes.
