KWA Issues Notice to Company Regarding Water Supply Interruptions in Kochi

Over 5,000 households in the West Kochi region experienced water supply disruptions after a significant leak in a pipeline near Perumanoor occurred on May 18. The leak has affected local residents access to potable water, leading to concerns about hygiene and sanitation in the area.

In addition to the pipeline issue, delays in maintenance at the Aluva water treatment plant have exacerbated the water supply challenges. The treatment plant is crucial for providing clean water to various parts of Kochi, and disruptions there further hinder efforts to restore normal water service.

Local authorities are actively working to address the pipeline leak and have initiated repairs to minimize the impact on affected households. Meanwhile, plans for the timely maintenance of the Aluva treatment facility will be prioritized to prevent future supply interruptions. Residents are urged to conserve water while repairs are underway, and updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
