Union Cabinet Approves Ahmedabad Metro Connection to Airport in Preparation for Commonwealth Games 2030
The Ahmedabad Metro Phase-2A project is set to enhance the city’s public transportation infrastructure, covering a distance of 6 kilometers. This phase is projected to be completed within four years. The new corridor will feature four elevated stations and one underground station, aimed at improving connectivity and reducing traffic congestion in the region.
This phase of the metro project is part of the larger Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project, which aims to promote sustainable urban transport. The introduction of the metro is expected to provide a reliable mode of transport for daily commuters, thereby contributing to a reduction in vehicular emissions.
In addition to the construction of stations, the project will include necessary supporting infrastructure and facilities. The Ahmedabad Metro Rail Corporation has emphasized the importance of integration with existing transportation systems, ensuring seamless transfers for passengers. The project is part of the broader goal to enhance urban mobility, with an emphasis on efficiency and safety.
