ED Interrogates Veena for Approximately 8 Hours in CMRL Pay-Off Investigation
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has reportedly questioned a former official regarding payments totaling ₹2.78 crore that were made by the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) to her now-defunct company, Exalogic IT Solutions. The inquiry includes scrutiny of loans amounting to ₹50 lakh that were extended to Exalogic by a company managed by S.N. Sasidharan Kartha, the Managing Director of CMRL.
These financial transactions have raised concerns due to Exalogics inability to fulfill its repayment obligations on time. The investigation is part of a broader effort to assess potential financial irregularities and ensure accountability in public sector dealings. CMRL, a government agency responsible for the operation and management of metro rail services in Chennai, plays a crucial role in urban transportation development in the city. As this investigation unfolds, it may have implications for both the individuals involved and the CMRLs operational integrity.
