23rd Instalment of PM-Kisan to be Disbursed on June 20, Totaling Rs 18,880 Crore for 9.44 Crore Farmers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to release the 23rd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme on June 20, 2024, during an event in West Bengal. This installment will amount to ₹18,880 crore, benefiting more than 9.44 crore farmers across the country.

In addition to the financial transfer, the Prime Minister will also launch several initiatives aimed at enhancing agricultural sustainability and support. These include new crop insurance schemes designed to protect farmers against losses due to natural disasters, as well as an Agri-Tech platform aimed at promoting technological advancements in agriculture.

Furthermore, the National Natural Farming Mission will be inaugurated, focusing on promoting organic farming practices to improve soil health and sustainability. The event will also feature the inauguration of various rural road projects, which are expected to improve connectivity and access to markets for rural populations.

These initiatives are part of the government’s broader strategy to bolster the agricultural sector and improve the livelihoods of farmers in India, which is crucial given the significance of agriculture in the country’s economy and the challenges farmers face related to climate variability and market access.
