Kerala Revised Budget: New Funding Allocated for Kozhikode Light Metro Project

In a recent announcement, the Chief Minister revealed an allocation of ₹20 crores for project activities associated with the proposed aviation-logistics hub at Calicut International Airport. The funding is intended to expedite the feasibility study necessary for advancing the project.

The proposed aviation-logistics hub aims to enhance air freight and logistics capacity in the region, promoting trade and facilitating easier transportation of goods. The inclusion of Calicut International Airport in this initiative is seen as a strategic move to leverage its current infrastructure and improve economic opportunities in the area.

Experts believe that such a hub could result in job creation and attract investment, thereby significantly benefiting local businesses. The government anticipates that a swift completion of the feasibility study will lay the groundwork for further development and operational planning for the hub. More detailed plans and timelines are expected to be released in the coming months as the project progresses.
