Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer Clarifies No Documents Required for House-to-House Enumeration Process
The Election Commission has announced a comprehensive house-to-house voter registration drive set to commence on June 30, aimed at covering over 5.54 crore eligible voters. This initiative is part of the commissions ongoing efforts to enhance voter participation and ensure accurate electoral rolls.
During this month-long campaign, officials will visit households to facilitate the registration of new voters, update existing voter information, and address any discrepancies in the electoral rolls. The registration drive is significant as it comes ahead of the release of the draft electoral rolls scheduled for August 5.
Voters are encouraged to participate in this initiative, which is critical for maintaining an up-to-date and inclusive electoral system. The Election Commission emphasizes the importance of every eligible citizen’s right to vote and aims to simplify the registration process through this outreach effort.
The commission will also provide resources and support for citizens to verify their voting status and to complete the registration process online or in-person at designated centers.
