Rajnath Singh and South Korean Minister Inaugurate Indian War Memorial in Seoul
The Defence Ministry has announced the inauguration of a new memorial dedicated to the 60 Para Field Ambulance of the Indian Army and the Custodian Force of India. This memorial serves to honor the bravery, sacrifices, and humanitarian contributions of these forces, particularly their pivotal involvement during and after the Korean War.
The 60 Para Field Ambulance was instrumental in providing medical support and aid during the Korean War, which lasted from 1950 to 1953, a conflict involving North and South Korea with significant international involvement. Indias Custodian Force, deployed in the region post-war, contributed to peacekeeping efforts, ensuring stability and humanitarian assistance in a war-torn area.
This memorial not only recognizes the valor of the personnel involved but also aims to educate the public about their pivotal role in promoting peace and providing medical aid in conflict situations. Further details regarding its location, design, and associated ceremonies are expected to be announced by the Ministry as part of its efforts to commemorate the sacrifices made by these armed forces.
