PM Encourages Secretaries to Prioritize Business Facilitation, Quality of Life, and Self-Sufficiency
During a recent meeting attended by nearly 80 Union Secretaries, including the Cabinet Secretary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of comprehensive planning through the implementation of the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan. The Prime Minister called for an integrated approach that spans across various government departments to enhance efficiency and eliminate departmental silos.
The PM Gati Shakti Master Plan, introduced in October 2021, aims to promote coordinated and effective project execution across infrastructure sectors by leveraging digital tools and data analytics. It includes a GIS-based platform designed to ensure that all government agencies work together seamlessly, facilitating better-targeted investments and reducing project delays.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi urged the secretaries to utilize the Gati Shakti framework to foster collaboration and optimize resource allocation. He highlighted the significance of breaking down silos within departments to improve service delivery and achieve development goals more swiftly.
This push comes amid ongoing efforts by the Indian government to accelerate infrastructure development as a key driver of economic growth, particularly in the wake of challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus on a holistic planning approach aligns with the government’s broader vision for a sustainable and robust economic future.
