Wipro Reports Modest Q1 Results; Sees Muted Outlook for Upcoming Quarter

Wipro Limited, a leading Indian information technology services provider, reported a net profit of ₹3,352 crore for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, reflecting a modest year-on-year increase of 0.6%. The company also indicated a cautious outlook for the next quarter, projecting a revenue growth rate of between -1.5% and +0.5% in constant currency terms.

In addition to its profit announcement, Wipro declared an interim dividend, signaling confidence in its long-term financial stability despite recent performance challenges. The company’s legal and professional expenses saw a considerable rise, increasing by 67% to ₹316 crore, which could indicate higher investments in compliance and legal matters.

In terms of workforce expansion, Wipro added 888 employees in this quarter, focusing on strengthening its capabilities, particularly in high-demand areas such as artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.
