Cabinet Approves ₹775 Crore Funding for Irrigation Projects in Andhra Pradesh
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced a series of initiatives aimed at accelerating essential water resource projects and enhancing water management systems across the state. Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi outlined the objectives during a recent press briefing, emphasizing the importance of these efforts in supporting the local agricultural sector and improving overall water accessibility.
In addition to the infrastructural advancements, the state plans to bolster its legal team to more effectively represent and defend its interests in ongoing water disputes. This move is expected to facilitate a stronger legal framework as Andhra Pradesh navigates various contentious water-sharing agreements with neighboring states.
Minister Parthasarathi highlighted the vital role of sustainable water management for farmers, asserting that these initiatives are crucial for promoting agricultural productivity and ensuring long-term water security in the region. The government remains committed to addressing challenges in water availability and quality, which have significant implications for both the economy and the welfare of its citizens.
