Zepto Postpones Listing While Aiming to Raise Rs 1,000 Crore in Funding

Zepto, a quick commerce startup, is currently in the process of raising ₹1,000 crore in pre-initial public offering (IPO) funding, which has led to a postponement of its plans to go public. The company is seeking to achieve a valuation between $4 billion to $4.5 billion in this funding round, marking a substantial decrease of over 30% from its earlier valuation of $7 billion.

As part of its strategy, Zepto intends to finalize this funding round within the next few weeks. Additionally, the company is expected to reduce the size of its original IPO offering.

Founded in 2021, Zepto has gained prominence in the Indian e-commerce market by providing ultra-fast delivery services for groceries and everyday essentials. The startup has already secured funding from notable investors, including Nexus Venture Partners and Y Combinator, making it one of the significant players in the rapidly evolving quick commerce industry. The current funding efforts signal both the challenges and the ongoing interest in the startups growth potential.
