Recently, PM Shah visited Nuwakot, one of the areas hardest hit by the floods, to review search and rescue operations firsthand. While flash floods are not uncommon in Nepal, the scale and impact of this event have tested the capabilities of the government, especially for the young Prime Minister, who has been in office for only 36 years. In a related meeting, the Nepali Cabinet convened to address the crisis prompted by the flooding of the Bhote Koshi River, signaling the governments commitment to tackling the ongoing humanitarian situation.
