Indias Rice Bowl Attracts Global Interest with 3,317 Registrations for BIRC 2026

Indias rice exporters are anticipating a substantial increase in international trade opportunities this October, coinciding with the Bharat International Rice Conference. The event is expected to attract participation from more than 3,300 buyers representing 138 countries, highlighting a growing global interest in Indian rice.

Key regions, particularly in Africa and the Gulf countries, are showing heightened interest in sourcing rice from India, reinforcing the country’s position as a leading rice exporter. The conference aims to foster business collaborations through an innovative app-based matchmaking platform, designed to connect buyers and sellers more effectively.

In addition to networking opportunities, the conference will host discussions focused on global rice supply and demand dynamics, as well as future expansion prospects for the industry. This initiative comes at a time when world rice prices are experiencing fluctuations due to various factors, including climate change impacts and changing consumer preferences.

India is one of the worlds largest producers and exporters of rice, accounting for approximately 40% of the total global rice trade. The Bharat International Rice Conference aims to further solidify Indias role in the global market and address challenges faced by exporters while exploring new avenues for growth.
