India-UAE Bilateral Meetings Highlight Strong Ties and Future Collaborations

During a series of bilateral meetings held on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the India-UAE relationship as a “symbol of stability,” reflecting the growing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.

The discussions covered a range of topics including energy infrastructure, trade, and investment partnerships, with both leaders expressing a commitment to enhance cooperation. In particular, they reviewed initiatives to boost the International Multi-Modal Connectivity (IMEC) project, which aims to improve logistics and trade connectivity between India, UAE, and other nations.

The India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which came into effect in May 2022, has been pivotal in expanding trade relations, targeting a trade volume of $100 billion within five years. The two leaders also highlighted ongoing projects in renewable energy and sustainable development.

As a result of these high-level discussions, both countries are expected to explore further collaborative ventures in sectors such as technology, security, and cultural exchange, paving the way for a strengthened partnership aimed at regional and global stability.

This meeting underscores the strategic alliance between India and UAE, which is becoming increasingly important in addressing mutual interests in the changing geopolitical landscape.
