UDF Confirms Kerala Cabinet Composition; IUML to Hold Five Ministerial Positions
Senior Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has been appointed as the Speaker of the Kerala Assembly. In addition to this key legislative role, a 21-member Cabinet led by Chief Minister-designate V.D. Satheesan is scheduled to take the oath of office on May 18.
Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, who has previously held various ministerial posts, including that of Home Minister, brings a wealth of experience to the Speakers position. His election reflects the partys strategy to strengthen its leadership in the state assembly.
The formation of the Cabinet is a crucial step following the recent elections in Kerala, where the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) emerged victorious. The upcoming Cabinet will include ministers responsible for key portfolios such as finance, education, and health, aiming to address pressing issues and implement developmental policies over the next term. The swearing-in ceremony is anticipated to draw significant public and political attention as it marks the beginning of a new phase for the administration in Kerala.
