Karnataka Weather Update: Anticipated Rains in Coastal and Inland Regions due to Shifting Low-Pressure System

Karnataka is preparing for increased rainfall across both coastal and inland districts as a low-pressure area shifts and expands. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts heavy to very heavy rain in several districts, including those in the coastal region of Karwar, and Taluk’s in the central and southern parts of Karnataka.

The meteorological office has issued alerts for potential flooding and disruptions, urging residents to stay vigilant as rainfall is expected to commence over the next few days. The low-pressure system, which has formed in the Arabian Sea, is anticipated to create conducive conditions for further precipitation.

In addition, the IMD has provided weather warnings and has advised local authorities to prepare for possible impacts, including road closures and the need for immediate support measures for affected communities. Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and exercise caution, particularly in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging.
