Chennai Weather Update: Rain Forecast for Six Districts Today

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Chennai, indicating a likelihood of rain in six districts today. This forecast comes as part of their ongoing monitoring of the monsoon season, which has been bringing varying weather conditions across the region.

The districts expected to experience rainfall include Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, and Ranipet. The weather department has advised residents to exercise caution due to possible localized flooding and disruptions in transportation.

The monsoon season in Tamil Nadu typically runs from June to September, but residual rains can occur in October. The state has experienced significant rainfall in recent weeks, leading to both beneficial agricultural moisture and challenges for urban drainage systems.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated through official weather channels and heed any advisory notices issued by local authorities.
