Protests and Shutdown in Ladakh Demand Statehood and Sixth Schedule Implementation
On March 16, hundreds of residents participated in a march from Singay Namgyal Chowk to Leh Polo Ground in Leh town. Concurrently, a rally in Kargil town also drew significant attendance from local residents. This demonstration followed the recent release of activist Sonam Wangchuk from jail. The Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) and the Leh Apex Body (LAB) organized the events to advocate for their cause in Ladakh.
