AG Identifies Issues in Implementation of Gruha Lakshmi Scheme
Recent investigations have revealed significant findings concerning financial transactions among beneficiaries of a specific program. A total of 19,020 individuals were identified as sharing the same bank account numbers, raising concerns about the integrity of the payment system. As a result of these transactions, approximately 303,000 successful payments were processed, totaling ₹60.69 crore.
This information highlights potential issues related to fraud and the need for stricter verification processes within the payment system. Authorities may need to examine the practices surrounding beneficiary registration and account management to ensure the appropriate distribution of funds. Enhanced auditing measures and fraud detection mechanisms may be necessary to prevent misuse of resources in similar programs in the future.
