Ajinkya Rahane Announces Immediate Retirement from All Forms of Cricket

Ajinkya Rahane, the former Indian cricket team vice-captain, has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket effective immediately. The 35-year-old cricketer made this emotional announcement at a press conference, where he expressed gratitude towards his teammates, coaches, and fans. Rahane had a distinguished career that included representing India in 82 Test matches and 90 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), as well as 20 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

Rahane is well-known for his consistent performances in Test cricket, particularly during Indias tour of Australia in 2020-21, where he played a pivotal role in securing a historic victory at the Gabba. Throughout his international career, he has amassed 4,600 Test runs at an average of 42.04, including 12 centuries.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has paid tribute to Rahane, recognizing his contributions and significant milestones during his international career. Various cricketing legends, including Sachin Tendulkar, have praised Rahane for his composure on the field and his ability to perform under pressure.
