Andhra Pradesh to Re-Auction Ramagiri Gold Blocks in Ananthapuramu

The two mining blocks located in the Ramagiri mandal, which were last operated by John Taylor and Sons approximately a century ago, encompass an area of 2,000 hectares. These blocks will be available for bidding under a Composite Licence system, which allows for the combined exploration and production of minerals.

The decision to offer these blocks for mining reflects ongoing efforts to revitalize the mineral sector in the region and attract investment. Historically, Ramagiri was known for its mineral resources, particularly gold. The revival of mining activities could potentially lead to job creation and economic development in the area. The government has emphasized the importance of adhering to sustainable and environmentally responsible mining practices in any forthcoming operations.
