Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Targets ₹1.9 Lakh Crore Investments and 1.52 Lakh Jobs in Mining and Steel Industries

The state has reported a total of 1,938 million tonnes of iron ore reserves, which is a significant resource for its mining sector. In a recent announcement, the Mines Department indicated that it exceeded its revenue target for the fiscal year 2025-26 by 8%. Looking ahead, the department has set an ambitious revenue goal of ₹4,650 crore for the fiscal year 2026-27.

Among the notable investments in the states mining sector are facilities by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel and JSW Steel. These investments are expected to contribute to the region’s economic growth, enhance industrial output, and create job opportunities. The presence of such major players in the iron and steel industry could also lead to increased demand for the states iron ore reserves, potentially bolstering future revenue for the Mines Department.

This strategic focus on leveraging mineral resources aligns with broader economic development initiatives, aimed at increasing the states contribution to the national economy while promoting sustainable mining practices. As the department works towards its 2026-27 financial goals, stakeholder engagement and regulatory measures will play a crucial role in ensuring responsible resource management.
