Andhra Pradesh Receives ₹1 Lakh Crore Investment Initiative for Aerospace and Defence Sectors

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has received an allocation of 350 acres in Puttaparthi for establishing a new defence manufacturing facility. This development is anticipated to make the site one of the largest aerospace and defence research hubs in India.

The facility is expected to focus on advanced aerospace technologies, defence systems, and related research and development activities. It will aim to enhance indigenous production capabilities, aligning with the Indian governments initiative to boost self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat program.

By fostering innovation and collaboration between public and private sectors, the facility could also contribute to job creation in the region and support the broader goals of Indias strategic defence objectives. The newly established hub is likely to support various projects, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missile development programs, thus strengthening India’s position in the global defence arena.
